Walk to 'Ell and Back previously there are many elements of the old route which you will be familiar with - from the top of Greetland, through Copley, Sowerby Bridge, to Luddenden Foot, then up to Sowerby and via Mill Bank to Ripponden. Gone are the bleak sections up over Baitings Reservoir and out to Green Withins, Boothwood and Scammonden, and this has been replaced with a shorter route back from Ripponden which is both scenic and challenging, taking you through Krumlin, Sowood, Old Lindley, and Elland. There is also a new start/finish section to tie in with our new venue in Greetland.
The new route is shorter at just over 20 miles, but we believe it is a much nicer route with some very challenging sections along the way.
A detailed route description will be sent to you on receipt of your completed entry form, but you can find a route summary, including representation of the various ascents/descents can be downloaded
